Dogs are chosen by the Selma Animal Shelter Director and local veterinarian, Dr. Mark Lawrence from dogs at the Selma Shelter. Once a dog is selected for the Adoptable Dog Program, it is spayed/neutered, given all vaccinations and tested for heart worms. A Volunteer-led individualized training program is then put in place to ensure that the dogs will make great family members for any home! Most of these dogs are housed at Sky Hill Farms during training and can be met on Mondays and Tuesdays from 5:30-7:30 pm or by appointment.
Cats are selected by Selma Purrrfect Pals. The cats enjoy a free-roam room designed to enrich their lives and get them ready for life in a home of their own. They enjoy the attention of several volunteers that come to play with them or just sit and pet them.
Cats and some adoptable dogs may be met at the Selma Animal Shelter, 206 Medical Center Parkway, Mon- Fri from 10am- 4pm, most second Saturdays of the month from 10 am -2 pm, by appointment at Sky Hill Farms and several other times a year they will be at area businesses or special events. Funds for these programs are provided through grants and donations. Dogs can be adopted for $100, and cats are $50. All pets are already spayed/ neutered, current on vaccines, micro-chipped, come with a goody bag of treats and toys, and free 30 days of Pet Insurance that can be continued for a low fee.Petfinder is down at the moment.
